I've been able to make the 5 veggie a day thing happen quite consistently.

From our little garden this week:
green beans - lots
variety of salad greens - lots
cukes - a few
tomatoes - few
zucchinis- just enough- excellent shredded into the breakfast egg
carrots -plenty
cabbage - plenty
leeks -a couple
parsnip - one

from the market:
cauliflower
radishes
delicious lemon cucumbers-you HHO folks should try those!

yikes i can hardly beleive its been so long since I posted. Got off the forums during our last trip to beautiful Idaho where we had oatmeal for breakfast every day along with seggs scrambled with meat and zucchini.
I have been consistent with breakfasts, supplements, five or more veggies a day. I have stepped up planning for meals for the week, although I already had a partial habit in place, knowing my distaste for food prep after a day at work. But now more focus on preparing more in advance and utilizing the freezer more to stock up on some easy meals to toss in the oven for warming after work.
The scale has not budged for some time. Stuck! Broken! Yikes!
Perhaps the time has come for more drastic measures such as completing the spread sheet, and keeping up with the daily e-mails.
Like my buddy Laura said...we're in this for the long haul.

Lise,

Yep- that spreadsheet can be helpful when plateaus start hanging on too long!

I just realized today that my oatmeal serving has been getting larger and larger the last few months. What was 1/2 cup is now easily 1 cup... and if I'm doing that with the oatmeal, I'm probably doing it with some other portion sizes.

I should probably do an email on revisiting the spreadsheet soon... I'll plan one.

Very nice to have you back. Hope your cute dog healed up quickly after the porcupine incident.

these things are working...
breakfasts are consistent.
Veggies are consistent.
More awareness of negative self-talk and the ability to 'change the subject'
Sustained weight loss of ten pounds and holding.

I have been lurking on the website the last few weeks. Now want to commit again to participating in HHO more actively.
Scot and I leave Wednesday for a week to visit friends in Canada on Wednesday. Scot will down-hill and I will cross country ski or snow shoe. I have my beautiful aluminum snow shoes and some new warm boots Christmas)so the Mr. and I have been shoeing up and down the nearby hills lately. Its fun and safe.A good way to get activity in the winter. My challenge is to get significant physical activity most days a week for 8 weeks.
